The dog ate the drawings
The hammock cranes from the kit are nearly all broken, and the dog has eaten sheet 3 and sheet 5, with the belaying plan.

On Piet's advice I ask Cornwall Model Boats for new drawings, and in the meantime I make the cavel cleats so that a rope can actually be belayed to them.

New hammock cranes from 1 mm tube bent round a wooden jig, with a small ring set into the filed-open end; flat or round rings is still the question.

The home-made hammock cranes are on, the netting comes from the kitchen fly screen and the first hammock is a roll of cloth measuring 4 by 3 cm, coloured in rooibos tea.

The nettings are attached to the horizontal rope with a small whipping and a loop, and with a strip of wood holding seven pins I roll and bind the hammocks.

After a year of rolling and binding, all 190 hammocks are in the nettings; at ten minutes each it was quite a job, and the hammock cranes are finished with it.
