Beeswax is fatal for the rope

All the guns are rigged by now, with the exception of the ropes that secure them to the deck. On the ten visible ones those are already in place, but then I ran out of blocks. A short wait until the new ones come in, unfortunately not the same ones, because those are still sold out.

Learned a lot from the process. The most important thing: beeswax is fatal for the colour of the rope. I thought it would make it easier to make the little coils on the deck, because beeswax is sticky by itself. In practice it made the rope ugly. Hoosterw had experimented with it too and it was not his thing; there are also voices saying that beeswax is bad for the rigging in the long term, because of the acids in the wax.

I have chosen to leave it as it is and to see it as a lesson for the guns on the upper deck. That, after all, is where it will really be visible.
