Coiling rope on the deck
They are only details, but I now have a method for laying down the rope that is acceptable to me. As I said, I find the spiral too neat, and the trials in the earlier photos I found too messy. Now I have found a middle way.
What I do: I stick the rope onto a piece of masking tape. Then I wind it round and round the bottom of my tweezers. That gives a hole in the middle and brings some height into the pile. While the tweezers are still standing upright in it, I fix the rope with a brush of diluted PVA glue. Then carefully remove the tweezers while holding the rope down with a toothpick. And then let it dry. I am pleased.

Hans Groenenberg also thought the rope itself was superb, and he had said so once before. For 0.3 mm rope it really does look very good. Stephan asked whether it comes from that German shop. Yes, modellbau-takelgarn.de.
