Caldercraft hooks and Jan's seizing
The Caldercraft hooks are in. They turn out to be somewhat smaller than the hooks that came with the kit after all, so another little trial. I still find them a bit too big, so I will wait a little longer until the smaller hooks arrive to see whether those are better. With these it would already be possible, mind you. Nothing is really fixed yet, so it looks a bit messy, but the photos already give a better picture.

For the seizing on the breeching rope I used Jan Zwart’s excellently described method, from his log of the Victory cross-section. That worked perfectly.
Piet agreed that the hooks are still on the (very) large side in proportion to the whole picture, but does not think you can get that realistic: they would then have to be a good deal smaller than the blocks, and on a model that is always a problem. Half the size would already be nice. Hans Groenenberg suggested placing the whole gun a little further from the bulwark, so that it makes some difference to the eye. I had thought of that, but the barrels do have to protrude enough. I will experiment with that some more.
