All breechings done, but the hooks are too big
It has taken a while again, but finally progress: all the breeching ropes are done. An overview photo will follow, first a problem. I have started rigging the gun tackles. I thought I would do it as in the photos of the Victory posted earlier in this log: hooks attached to the block with a seizing. Caldercraft, however, supplies standard hooks of 5 mm length, and those turn out to be completely out of proportion; 3 mm would already be better. In any case I fear I cannot use the seizing, because it takes up too much space and otherwise the blocks end up too close together. The blocks and the rope are in proportion, so I do not see what else I have done wrong.

Pingu57 thought that smaller than 5 mm does not exist; his are 5 mm too. Piet uses no hooks at all for the gun tackles and ties the blocks directly to the ring bolts, that way they fit in between better. Stephan had looked at Cornwall for me, but they only have what I already have; then make them myself from a piece of thin copper wire, or search on AliExpress. Jan has 3 mm hooks for me and pointed to dafinismus.de, sheet 7. Bert Mogelin asked about my blocks: they are 2.3 mm, to be precise 3/32 inch, and come from Syren Ship Model Company.
I myself found another set of hooks 3 mm long, but that is going to be an expensive affair, so I will first try to make them myself.

On Ali I could not find anything (Hans also warned about import duty there in case of a random inspection). I tried making them myself, but it really is very small and the result is not exactly pretty. So 20 of those sets ordered after all. Luckily the price at Cornwall was not too bad, cheaper than Jan’s option, which incidentally also looked very nice.
