The bow is closed

2 January 2019

So far everything is going as hoped. The lines run as intended and at the bow I have one stealer, which even comes out at exactly the width of two plates. It does not look that way in the photo, but the angled line distorts the picture. So glad I started again.

The same afternoon the first gore line was closed and I started on the underside.

A day later the bow was closed, apart from the bit at the keel. This gives a good impression of the result. Unfortunately I made a wrong choice in following the pattern. In hindsight that should have been done differently, but luckily it is not very noticeable. Perhaps for the last section I should have followed the upper line rather than the lower one; I think the lines at the bow would have looked better then. I will think about that a little longer, because getting those angled pieces on was quite a job.
