Two lions and a grand gentleman
Both ladies are back in place, repaired and in the same antique gold. They’ve been joined by two lions and some grand gentleman in the middle; who exactly he represents I don’t know. Piet had already said that the ornaments cause no problems at this stage, so here I’m simply following the manual. The transom is now nearly finished, only the decoration in the red is still missing.

The next evening I finished the transom, and the left-hand gallery has come a long way too. For the small white ornament I chose to cut it out rather than fit it as a whole. The photo shows what it originally looked like; the cut-out ornament is shown in primer. On the transom the decoration on the red panel has now been applied. A decent photo of the transom will follow.

It’s coming along now. Just the right-hand gallery to go, as soon as the replacement ornaments arrive.
