Walnut on the transom and three window tips
This evening I finished off the planking of the transom. The walnut sheets now cover the blue I applied there yesterday for nothing. I still haven’t decided on the windows. It will probably be paper painted dark grey, as Piet did.

In response to my request for suggestions, three ideas came in within the hour.
Jaques suggested a piece of film with a haze of thinned grey paint on it, as Danny did on his Batavia (without the leaded-light lines, of course). I’m definitely going to try that.
Hans Groenenberg recommended a hard plastic, for example the lid of the tub of egg salad from the butcher’s, sanded a little duller. Also worth trying, although I’m afraid I might find it slightly too light.
Building Mouse came up with aluminium foil behind a piece of clear plastic. Another good idea.
So I have plenty to test. In any case it has to be something that hides the stern frame supports behind the windows.
